Singing Competition 2010 For String Section.

In conjunction with the coming World Expo, String section of our conservatory held a singing competition to celebrate the big event.

There were top 10 singers who were chosen to compete today.

Here are the Emcees of the day.

And there was this World Expo's mascot which walked around harassing people. XD
It was trying to hit the guy and there was a friendly fight. :DD
It actually stole all the attention.

One more thing, it was a good POSER. XD

After the 1st round, there was a special performance from 3 girls, dancing Boom Boom Pow. XD
Pretty hot.
I like the girl in the middle, the one with pink shorts.
She danced really well as if she was borned a rockstar, the others were kinda trying too hard, sorry to say.

It was supposed to end well, but Boom Boom Pow ended with a bang in the head. XD
Both these dancers hit their heads together accidentally.
Looked at their reaction. XDD

Hmm.. my conclusion after listening to all of the singers.
There were 5 great singers, and another 5 of them either chose the wrong songs or didn't have a really great voice.

Here was the girl who chose the wrong song.
She had a great voice, and she would have a big chance to win if she chose some slow romantic songs that could evince her voice.
However, she decided to sing Toxic by Britney Spears and danced and jumped on the stage with too much unnecessary moves that caused her voice to break and got out-of-tune.
It was quite a waste. :(((

However she still got through the 1st round.

Too bad, the 2nd round she still made a bad song selection by picking "Can't Take My Eyes Off You".
I guessed she didn't prepare herself well before she started, coz the moment she started "Da da, da da, da da da da da", she already sounded breathless.
And when she get to "I love you baby" that part it got a lil weird, and it got totally off-key afterwards. X.X

Anyways, She got number 7th. :)

Here was the performance from the winner of the night, Jia Su Yang.
He had an amazing voice and it was awfully touching when he sang 可惜不是你, by Fish Leong.
*Claps claps*

The girl who played the piano sang with him at the end of the song.
It was soooo beautiful. :)
We didn't even have to question who would be the winner that night after listening to it.

This was his performance for the first round.
There were 2 rounds you see.
He got the 1st place for this round as well.

Okay here's a shot of the hottest guy from String section.
Lotsa girls are screaming when he goes on stage.
Let me conclude, he has a great look and the height for a model, but....... his performance in the first round kinda sucks. x.x

He picked this really slow love song that couldn't depict his deep voice well.
It got pretty boring and ppl ended up chatting and not listening. XD
That included me as well. XDDD
Coz there wasn't anything catchy at all in the performance, he was singing with his eyes on the ground and not moving much like a rock, the worst thing was he sat down on the chair after 2 minutes singing the song, and it was just TOO BORING. X.X






Anyway he managed to get through Round 1 due to the votes of his undying fans. XD
Good thing was this time finally he made the right option by singing a really blue kinda rock song.
It suited him to perfection.
And everyone started to cheer, like FINALLY. XDD
He got number 6th btw.

And this was the first runner-up. :)
He composed the songs himself and sang it.
The first song he sang was "I Love You". :DDD
He had this very husky voice that you would have goosebumps creeping up your hands.
It was touching. :)

For the 2nd round, he sang a song that he composed for all his friends in the conservatory while he played the piano.

The way he made his debut when the emcees introduced the singers.

Owh and this guy got the 3rd place. :)
Nice voice he has. :))

It was raining, and Kevin, Xing Zhu and I went to have dinner afterwards.
I wanna join Jiun Hui them to eat Japanese food, but felt that I should celebrate it with Kevin & Xing Zhu after the successful competition.
Coz Kevin was the director of it, and Xing Zhu didn't bring her umbrella. :DD

We were eating watermelons! ^^

We ate and chatted until very late, about 11pm.
It was still raining outside, and Xing Zhu was having a massive gastritis attack by that time.
She told me that it happened often, even after she ate something, and she looked so much in pain I was really worried. :((
The worst thing was we couldn't get a cab anywhere and there was only one umbrella for the 3 of us. So Kevin just got soaked in the rain while I held onto Xing Zhu with the umbrella in my hand.

Like after half an hour of endless waiting, finally we got a cab and phew, I went home shivering. XD


Rest in peace, little puppy Lulu. :(
It died yesterday night due to some disease I dunno wat. :(((((
